Fragment of a skirt
This womans skirt with its circumference of over five meters is the only object where the original intended use is still evident. A tapestry band and a braided flounce should be imagined at the lower end of the skirt.
" Rider Textile
This tapestry band shows a mounted hunter with a drawn bow pursuing a goat-like creature with a human head. Both the motif of the mythical hunt and the specific figure of the goat-man are probably of Iranian origin.
Tapestry Band with Deer
This long tapestry band reveals the ornamental nature of the figurative motifs. The winged deer with double antlers have undulating contours, and their bodies are decorated with designs of different colors.
Tapestry with Abstract Pattern
A rhythmical arrangement of a limited number of colours and varied placing of the motifs give this tapestry a strikingly modern look. Stylized blossoms or antlers may be depicted here.
Skirt Fragment
This fragment forms the lower end of a womans skirt. A colorful tapestry band showing mythological creatures and a tightly pleated flounce of a braided band are attached to plain fabrics of different colours.
