Shuttle, Brush and Ball of Thread
Late Antique Textiles from Egypt and their Production
25th April 14th November 2004
daily 2 p.m. 5.30 p.m.
In 2004 the focus of attention will be on textiles from ancient Egypt. Complete tunics of different types, linen and silk fabrics, woven and painted wall hangings will be on exhibition as well as small, sumptuous fragments that give unexpected insights into the production and use of textiles. Taken together, they demonstrate the great technical diversity and exquisite quality of textiles two thousand years ago.
